
Forces of the 12 Brigade have neutralized an alleged terrorist during a combative patrol at Odoape–Adankolo Forest in the Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State.
This information was disclosed in a post on X by Zagazola Makama, a specialist in counter-insurgency and security within the Lake Chad area.
The source indicated that the encounter took place at approximately 1400hrs on March 23, 2026, as the patrol unit came into contact with the escaping suspect.
According to Makama, initial investigations revealed the neutralized individual as a notorious terrorist engaged in supplying intelligence and targets for abductions, in addition to cattle rustling and providing timber to terrorist organizations.
“The military has reiterated its dedication to maintaining vigorous patrols and intelligence-driven operations to mitigate criminal activities and safeguard residents in the vicinity,” the source stated.
NAIJATAB recalls that Kogi State has recently emerged as a hotspot for banditry, where numerous residents have been abducted and others lost their lives in the incidents.
