
The Nigerian Army asserts that its forces executing missions in the South-South and South-East regions have heightened efforts against economic sabotage and unlawful activities, resulting in numerous apprehensions and confiscations.
Reports from operations provided to the News Agency of Nigeria on Monday revealed that troops involved in Operation Delta Safe uncovered a wooden vessel loaded with approximately 75,000 litres of pilfered crude oil in the Bonny Local Government Area of Rivers state.
In Bayelsa, it mentioned that a collaborative mission with personnel from the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, culminated in the detention of 28 suspects during synchronized raids throughout Yenagoa, alongside significant recoveries of illegal substances.
“Additionally, in Ebonyi, forces under Operation UDO KA thwarted an attempt to vandalize essential infrastructure at a construction location in Afikpo.
“One individual was initially detained, which led to the apprehension of three accomplices and the recovery of cables, batteries, and cutting instruments,” it stated.
