“Ogun ADC Turmoil: State Publicity Secretary Joins Forces with Famojuro Faction”

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Ogun State has experienced leadership upheaval following the organization of two simultaneous state congresses on Saturday.

NAIJATAB reported that the parallel congresses took place at different venues, resulting in Emmanuel Famojuro and Femi Soluade being appointed as the new chairman, with Olumide Onabajo serving as the State Publicity Secretary for both factions.

In a prompt response to the situation, Onabajo, in a press release provided to NAIJATAB on Sunday, elucidated his stance amid the escalating factional tension.

Onabajo conveyed his appreciation to both factions for acknowledging his contributions to the party’s visibility throughout the state, yet expressed disappointment that despite his relentless efforts and personal sacrifices in the Ajuwon/Akute region of Ifo Local Government, some prominent stakeholders did not offer him the needed backing.

After what he termed “thorough contemplation and discussions,” Onabajo announced his decision to affiliate with the faction led by Mr. Emmanuel Famojuro.

He emphasized that this shift was essential to enable him to keep contributing to the stability and development of the party under a leadership he feels more in sync with.

Onabajo stated, “At this crucial moment, it has become imperative for me to unequivocally express my position.

“I have exerted considerable effort for the party, especially during my tenure in Ajuwon/Akute, Ifo Local Government.

“In spite of my sacrifices, it is clear that major stakeholders, including Hon. Ojerinde Olusola and Comrade Salau, have not shown support or regard for my contributions. This remark also applies to the team led by Otunba Femi Soluade.

“While I will avoid delving into extensive specifics, I remain assured that my dedication, sacrifices, and personal investments in the party are known to the Almighty and to those who have observed my journey.

“After thorough contemplation, discussions, and evaluation of the current circumstances, I have resolved to ally with the group spearheaded by Mr. Emmanuel Famojuro.

“This choice is driven by conviction and the aspiration to continue playing a significant role in the development and stability of our party.

“I wish all involved parties the utmost success as we persist in our efforts to fortify our democratic principles.”
