Former Ganduje Advisor Yakasai Makes Bold Leap from APC to ADC

Salihu Yakasai, a previous Director-General of Media and Communications for former Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, has departed the All Progressives Congress, APC, to join the African Democratic Congress, ADC.

Yakasai disclosed his shift in a statement shared on his Facebook page on Monday.

He mentioned that the choice was made after thorough discussions with family, friends, and political colleagues.

He remarked, “After conversing with family and friends as well as other political activists, we have resolved to affiliate with the ADC Party New Journey.

“I’ve already submitted my resignation from the APC and have finalized my registration with our new party, the ADC.

“Individuals interested in joining the ADC party can sign up via the party’s link and will soon receive their membership card.

“We hope to God that this is the optimum choice, and may the ADC establish a government that is robust and influential, and may it bring prosperity to all Nigerians. Amen.”

Yakasai had departed the APC in 2022 for the Peoples Redemption Party, where he contested for governor in the 2023 election, but later returned to the ruling party.

His transition to the ADC is occurring as the party gains momentum. Nine senators from various parties recently joined the ADC, enhancing the stature of the opposition party as the 2027 general elections approach.
