Nollywood actress, Lilian Afegbai has called out the organizers of the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards, AMVCA, for overlooking her in its 2026 nominations.
NAIJATAB reports that the organizers recently revealed the nominees for the 12th edition of the AMVCA, with Lilian Afegbai’s co-star in ‘To Kill A Monkey’, Bimbo Akintola receiving a nomination for Best Lead Actress.
In response, Afegbai criticized the organizers for bypassing her, contending that her role, Idia, was the most popular character in the acclaimed series, ‘To Kill A Monkey.’
She, however, stated that she isn’t particularly concerned about validations, remarking that the organizers can “enjoy” their award.
On her X account, she expressed, “AMVCA smh. I always choose to believe that everything occurs for a reason.
“I don’t require a nomination for affirmation. The reality is evident: No one trended like Idia from TKAM last year. Her performance was flawless. You all can savor your award.”
