“Disavowing the Future: Ex-CoS to Fubara Denies Rumored 2027 ADC Governorship Bid”

A previous Chief of Staff to the Rivers State Governor, Edison Ehie, has dismissed as untrue and politically driven a circulating poster associating him with an alleged 2027 gubernatorial scheme under the African Democratic Congress, ADC.

In a declaration released on Saturday, Ehie labeled the assertion, which implies he would run as deputy governor alongside Dakuku Peterside, as “deceptive” and an effort to mislead the public and disrupt the state’s political environment.

“Let it be articulated distinctly, resolutely, and without doubt: this narrative is not merely incorrect, it is a deliberate act of political propaganda aimed at misleading the public, creating division, and undermining the unity and stability currently being reinforced under the leadership of His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara,” he stated.

Ehie reaffirmed his loyalty to the All Progressives Congress, APC, and reiterated his backing for Governor Siminalayi Fubara, emphasizing that he remains dedicated to the administration’s agenda for peace and advancement.

“I have neither supported nor consented to any such political arrangement, and any assertion to the contrary is nothing less than political deception,” he added.

Ehie cautioned against what he referred to as deliberate disinformation, highlighting that the use of his name in the poster was unauthorized and misleading.

He encouraged members of the public to dismiss the document and concentrate on the state’s advancement.

“I align myself with where Governor Fubara has always positioned himself: with the APC and with the citizens of Rivers State. Any effort to suggest otherwise is completely unfounded,” Ehie proclaimed.

He maintained that Rivers State does not need “rescue from fictitious foes,” asserting that the current administration is already providing meaningful leadership and fostering unity.

According to him, attempts to associate him with alternative political entities reveal the desperation of individuals seeking significance through false narratives.
