A heavy downpour on Tuesday caused traffic mayhem along the Nyanya–Keffi Expressway in Abuja after considerable destruction was reported at the Kugbo Bus Terminal.
Sections of the newly built terminal experienced damage from the storm, with parts of the roofing ripped away and debris scattered onto the roadway, obstructing the smooth passage of vehicles.
This situation resulted in severe delays on the constantly busy route linking the Federal Capital Territory to neighboring Nasarawa State, leaving travelers stranded for numerous hours.
Witnesses noted that several vehicles were impacted by descending debris, as bystanders and locals combined efforts to clear the road and alleviate the congestion.
The area surrounding the Abuja Computerised Vehicle Inspection Centre, overseen by the Directorate of Road Traffic Services (VIO), was recognized as the most severely impacted segment of the highway.
At the time of writing this story on Tuesday evening, traffic was still inching forward, with drivers advised to navigate cautiously when nearing the affected zone.
