“Benue School Takes a Stand: 11 Students Expelled Following Disturbing Assault Incident”

The administration of Seat of Wisdom Secondary School, Aliade, in Benue State, has expelled 11 students due to their purported involvement in an attack that resulted in a female student being stripped during a brawl.

This action follows the surfacing of a distressing viral clip depicting the victim being assaulted and disrobed by fellow uniformed students.

The recording, captured and disseminated online by other students, ignited widespread outrage.

In the footage, the victim was observed struggling to shield herself as her aggressors taunted and ridiculed her.

In response to the incident, the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) instructed its Benue State Command to collaborate with relevant entities to ensure swift investigation and measures.

A source from the school indicated that the event transpired about a week prior, not within the school’s premises but in a wooded area behind the establishment during extension classes organized for JSS3 and SS3 students.

According to the source, the confrontation began when two female students challenged one another to a duel and relocated to a private area behind the school to resolve their conflict.

“They supposedly consented to depart the school grounds and settle their disagreement in a secluded location, away from the watchful eyes of teachers. However, what commenced as a one-on-one bout quickly escalated when their friends became involved,” he stated.

The situation allegedly heightened as more students participated, culminating in a chaotic clash where uniforms, including undergarments, were ripped apart, while some students captured the scene and mocked the victim.

“The commotion eventually drew the attention of teachers, who intervened. The students were halted, and the situation was managed before it escalated into a major crisis within the school,” he added.

Following the incident, the school administration suspended the extension classes and provisionally disciplined some students.

The source revealed that prompt punitive measures were taken even before the video became viral, resulting in the expulsion of the 11 students directly involved.

“They were all expelled individually from the school once it was confirmed that they played a part in the contemptible act,” he stated.

Those expelled allegedly include nine girls and two boys, with their parents formally informed of the situation.

Each expulsion letter, signed by the school’s principal, stated in part:

“Following the recommendation of the school’s Disciplinary Committee after a comprehensive investigation into your purported involvement in fighting and the illicit posting of a video on social media, which constitutes a breach of school rules and regulations and a deliberate effort to tarnish the reputation of the school, you are hereby expelled with immediate effect from March 23, 2026.”
