“Three-Hour Shootout: Nigerian Forces Take Down 24 Terrorists in Daring Operation”

Members of the Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), under Sector 2, have eliminated at least 24 militants.

A declaration released by the Media Information Officer of the Task Force, Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, mentioned that the mission was executed during a “resolved militant offensive on the Kukareta site” Thursday morning.

As per the declaration, the offensive, which “initiated shortly after midnight and persisted until around 0300 hours, encountered a rapid and synchronized reaction from alert troops who performed a calculated offensive-defensive maneuver, successfully containing the onslaught and compelling the militants into a chaotic retreat.

“Throughout the confrontation, the forces inflicted significant losses on the aggressors, with 24 militants neutralized thus far.

“Continuous assessment of the combat zone has resulted in the retrieval of a considerable stockpile of weaponry and ammunition, which includes 18 AK-47 rifles, 3 General Purpose Machine Guns (GPMG), 2 PKT automatic anti-aircraft guns, 3 RPG tubes, 2 mortar tubes, 4 hand grenades, 18 AK-47 magazines, and substantial amounts of belted 7.62mm ammunition for PKT units.

“The troops recorded 2 personnel injured in action, who have been stabilized, while one additional armored tank suffered damage with all tires deflated during the confrontation.

“Assessment operations are ongoing to retrieve extra bodies and equipment along the militants’ escape routes scattered with blood trails and medical supplies.

“This triumphant operation underscores the resilience, combat readiness, and fire superiority of OPHK forces in denying militants any freedom of movement.

“Operations will persist with enduring offensive pressure to solidify achievements and decisively eliminate all terrorist factions within the Joint Operations Area.”
