Bauchi Blitz: Army Obliterates Bandit Hideouts



The Nigerian Army has intensified its assault against criminals in Bauchi State, resulting in the obliteration of multiple camps, including the infamous Azuge and Hari camps, substantially hindering illicit activities in the region.

Soldiers have additionally achieved new victories in ongoing cleanup operations throughout lawless zones in Bauchi.

A communication from Army Headquarters in Abuja detailed that troops from the 33 Artillery Brigade, collaborating with the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), executed a significant clearance mission in the Dajin Madam Forest.

As per the report, “Troops have incapacitated several bandits during the operation, while others escaped under relentless military pressure.”

It further clarified that 19 relatives of the bandits, consisting of six women and 13 children, were apprehended, while numerous motorcycles utilized by the criminals were eradicated to restrict their movement.

The report noted that security forces retrieved an assortment of items, including an AK-47 magazine, packets of tramadol, police and military attire, as well as two horses, indicating efforts by the criminals to masquerade as security personnel.

The report asserted that troops have since established a solid presence in the forest to reinforce gains and prevent any reorganization by fleeing bandits.

In a related occurrence, troops executed a follow-up mission in Mainamaji as part of efforts to leverage achievements from recent airstrikes on bandit hideouts. The Army reported that the operation encountered no contact, implying that relentless military pressure has diminished the bandits’ footprint in the area.

The Army reaffirmed its dedication to maintaining pressure on criminal factions until enduring peace is achieved and urged the populace to assist security agencies with timely and reliable information.
