Former Super Eagles leader, John Mikel Obi, has urged Arsenal coach, Mikel Arteta to explore new methods to inspire his squad in the Premier League championship battle.

The Gunners faced a setback in their ambitions after they were defeated 2-1 by Bournemouth on Saturday.

This outcome means Arteta’s side has achieved only one victory in their last four matches across all tournaments.

On Sunday, Manchester City narrowed Arsenal’s advantage to six points, following a 3-0 thrashing of Chelsea.

This weekend, City will welcome Arsenal at the Etihad.

”Arteta needs to discover a way to inspire this squad,” Mikel Obi expressed on Obi One Podcast.

“In my view, they appear to be a team that has exhausted its ideas. They seem lost. When you observe this Arsenal group, there’s no one eager to take charge on the field.

“There’s nobody ready to be ‘that individual’ who proclaims, ‘I’m going to create the opportunities; I’m going to ensure we perform well.”
