Demonstrators on Thursday invaded the streets of Abuja, urging opposition leaders such as former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, and former Senate President David Mark to refrain from engaging with the African Democratic Congress, ADC.
The protest was spearheaded by the splinter National Chairman of the ADC, Nafiu Bala, who charged the political figures with attempting to seize control of the party.
Bala was accompanied by ADC House of Representatives member, Leke Abejide, as they paraded with supporters holding placards bearing various messages.
Some of the placards read ‘Woe to Political Plunderers’, and ‘Hon. Nafiu Bala, We Support You’.
NAIJATAB notes that this appears to be a counter-demonstration following an earlier protest by the David Mark faction at the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
