“Rising Flames: Lakurawa Raids Ignite Fear and Displacement in Kebbi Communities”

Alleged Lakurawa combatants have supposedly assaulted communities in the Shanga Local Government Area of Kebbi State, igniting residences and compelling inhabitants to escape.

The occurrence was revealed on Thursday in a message shared on X by security analyst Bakatsine, who indicated that the assailants focused on Kawara and adjacent villages, causing extensive devastation.

As per the post, numerous houses were incinerated, with many families bereft of their possessions and sources of income.

One individual affected, recognized as Salisu, reportedly lost everything after his residence was consumed by flames.

“Lakurawa, which targeted Kawara and nearby villages in Shanga LGA of Kebbi State, set residences ablaze and devastated entire communities. Salisu lost everything in the inferno that consumed his village. While accounts indicate that some of the assailants were later neutralized after a confrontation with security forces and vigilantes in Borgu LGA of Niger State, the anguish and loss endure profoundly,” Bakatsine noted.
