
Members of the Nigerian Army, under Operation UDO KA, have eliminated a suspected abductor and rescued a victim during a search-and-recovery mission in Udenu Local Government Area of Enugu State.
As per a post shared on X by security expert Zagazola Makama, security insiders stated the operation was executed on April 3, 2026, at approximately 6:05 am, after an urgent communication was received from the Nigeria Police Force, Obolo Division, following an alert from the Ezimo Community Neighbourhood Watch.
The sources indicated that the troops, originating from 82 Division Garrison and Sector 1 of Operation UDO KA, proceeded to the location and confronted the suspected abductors, leading to a firefight.
“One of the assailants was incapacitated, while others escaped into the nearby vegetation,” one of the sources mentioned.
Additionally, it was revealed that during a subsequent search of the vicinity, the troops successfully freed a kidnapped victim.
Items retrieved from the scene comprised six mobile devices, a power bank, a flashlight, as well as energy beverages, apparel, and food supplies.
The source further stated that the remains of the incapacitated assailant, along with the liberated victim, were delivered to the police for subsequent measures.
“The remains of the incapacitated assailant and the liberated victim were transferred to the police for further measures,” the source elaborated.
Officials also mentioned that efforts are ongoing to locate the escaping assailants and ensure safety in the region is upheld.
