The Taraba State Police Command has apprehended individuals connected to the murder of three law enforcement officers in Tor Damisa village, Donga Local Government Area, and retrieved firearms taken during the incident.
The Commissioner of Police, Morkwap S. Dongshal, disclosed this information while addressing the media on Thursday at the Command’s headquarters in Jalingo.
This development follows a recent ambush in Donga Local Government Area, where alleged militias killed three police officers and absconded with their service rifles.
As stated by the police commissioner, two individuals—Suleman Abdullahi, 30, and Idris Kauri, 33, both from Akente Village—have been detained in relation to the incident and are presently in custody.
He further noted that all three confiscated service firearms have been retrieved, calling the achievement a significant operational advancement. Efforts are continuing to locate other accomplices who remain at large, he added.
In a different operation, officers associated with the Zing Divisional Police Headquarters apprehended two additional suspects during a stop-and-search activity at Yonko.
