The Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Kebbi State, Abubakar Bawa, has formally stepped down from the party, with immediate effect.
Bawa submitted his resignation through a letter dated March 30 to the Ward Chairman of Kalgo Ward in Kalgo Local Government Area.
In the correspondence, he conveyed his appreciation to the party for the chance to serve and recognized the backing he received throughout his term.
“I appreciate the party for the platform provided to me to make my contribution and wish the PDP continued success and advancement,” he remarked.
The resignation has garnered political scrutiny within the Kebbi PDP, especially amidst subtle realignments leading up to the 2027 general elections.
Bawa’s exit follows closely after he reaffirmed the state chapter’s involvement in the Wike-endorsed factional convention in Abuja, raising uncertainties among political analysts regarding potential internal divisions and changing dynamics within the party.
