
Nigerian music icon, Innocent Idibia, widely recognized as 2Face, has conveyed assurance in the prospects of Afrobeats, dispelling concerns that the genre may face decline on the international front.
In a recent conversation with Yaw on Wazobia FM Lagos, the African Queen hitmaker contended that, contrary to certain pessimistic forecasts, Afrobeats is unlikely to vanish from the global scene.
He emphasized that the vast reservoir of youthful talents in the nation guarantees its endurance, asserting that emerging artists are the essence of Afrobeats.
2Face remarked, “Afrobeats will never fade away. If you listen to some of the emerging Afrobeats musicians today, you will concur that the genre is in competent hands.
“Not long ago, one of the emerging artists, Fola, recreated my track ‘If Love Is A Crime.’ I truly appreciated it. Delicate, melodious vocals. It’s extraordinary. The current generation of artists possesses unique flows. I admire their styles.”
