The All Progressives Congress has urged rival parties to cease contesting the anticipated result of the 2027 general elections and instead concentrate on the 2031 race, asserting that its mandate continues to be legitimate.
The National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Felix Morka, expressed this opinion on Tuesday, March 25, 2026, in Abuja, while responding to the ongoing disputes from the opposition regarding the outcome of the 2027 elections.
He stated, “the opposition must acknowledge the facts of the election and progress instead of fixating on what he termed as resolved issues.”
He further mentioned that “The 2027 elections have been finalized, and the mandate freely bestowed upon our party by Nigerians is unquestionable; those still protesting should shift their efforts towards preparing for 2031.”
He added that relentless disputes over a finalized election do not benefit democracy, emphasizing that the ruling party remains devoted to governance and fulfilling its commitments.
Mr. Morka additionally encouraged opposition parties to embrace issue-focused politics, highlighting that “constructive dialogue,” rather than diversion, is what the nation requires at this moment.
