A Nigerian household in the United States has entered a period of mourning following a tragic vehicular collision that resulted in the deaths of a mother and her two kids in Texas.
The individuals affected, recognized as Nihinloluwa Agoro along with her children, Temiloluwa and Isaac, were purportedly en route to church when the incident transpired in Fort Bend County.
Officials have yet to reveal the precise details surrounding the event.
This situation has triggered responses back home, with the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, voicing immense sorrow regarding the tragedy.
She characterized the event as profoundly upsetting, emphasizing that the fatalities were especially heart-wrenching since the family was on what ought to have been a typical outing.
In a statement released by the Commission’s spokesperson, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, Dabiri-Erewa conveyed sincere condolences to the grieving family as well as the Nigerian community in the United States.
“Our hearts go out to the family during this incredibly challenging period. It is a heartbreaking loss that words can scarcely express,” she stated.
She also offered prayers for the serene rest of the deceased and solace for their relatives, while wishing a swift recovery to anyone who may have incurred injuries in the collision.
The NiDCOM leader further encouraged Nigerians, both within the nation and in the diaspora, to remain alert and comply with road safety regulations to prevent similar incidents.
She concluded by stating that the Commission stands in unity with Nigerians in Texas and throughout the United States as they lament the loss.
