Two individuals are feared deceased following an evening blaze that destroyed numerous homes in the Sassawa community within the Damaturu local government area of Yobe state.
Senator Musa Mustapha, who represents Yobe East, validated the occurrence on his verified Facebook page while expressing condolences to the victims and families of the deceased.
“While we were rejoicing in the festive occasion of Eidul-Fitr, I received a heartbreaking call regarding the unexpected fire outbreak that reportedly took the lives of two individuals and devastated a significant part of Sassawa village in Damaturu Local Government.
“I sincerely empathize with the victims, especially the families of the deceased and those whose homes and means of livelihood have been directly impacted by the fire,” he posted.
The legislator acknowledged that he will collaborate with pertinent stakeholders and government entities, including the State Emergency Management Agency, to collectively alleviate the struggles of all those affected by this devastating event.
“May Allah forgive those who passed and grant their families the strength to endure the loss,” he wrote.
