Members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Zamfara State have underscored the significance of internal solidarity and compliance with party protocols prior to the 2027 general elections, following an important meeting in Gusau.
The gathering, which took place on Saturday at the Government House, convened prominent party members, including former governors, legislators, and various stakeholders to assess arrangements for upcoming political events.
A statement released at the conclusion of the meeting, delivered by the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Mohammed Matawalle, indicated that participants concurred on the necessity for peaceful, transparent, and inclusive execution of party congresses and primary elections according to set guidelines.
The assembly also emphasized the necessity of reinforcing the party’s framework at the grassroots level across wards and local government regions.
Participants encouraged members to uphold unity and address internal conflicts through established party channels as preparations for the elections gain traction.
Conversations during the gathering also addressed security issues in the state, with a recommendation for enhanced cooperation between communities and security forces.
The stakeholders further supported President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Dauda Lawal as the party’s favored candidates for the 2027 elections.
