“Tinubu Celebrates Nigeria’s Fuel Prices: A Comparative Blessing Over Kenya and Beyond!”

President Bola Tinubu has asserted that Nigeria’s fuel costs are more favorable than those of Kenya and other African nations.

He revealed this during his address on Thursday when he toured Yenagoa for project inauguration.

He recognized the financial difficulties confronting Nigerians, especially the escalating fuel costs they encounter.

He expressed that he comprehends the worries of Nigerians regarding the existing economic climate but emphasized that the nation is still performing better than several other countries on the continent.

“Indeed, I hear your concerns from the economic standpoint; the fuel rates are significantly impactful,” Tinubu stated. “But look around; let us be grateful together that we are in a better position than those in Kenya and other African nations.”

Investigations by NAIJATAB revealed that the fuel price in Kenya as of April 2026 was $1.37 per litre, which is approximately N1,862.

Since the onset of the Iran-United States-Israel conflict in March, fuel prices have surged to between N1,290 and N1,350 per liter, while crude oil prices fluctuate around $95 and $100 per barrel.

Over the past six weeks, petroleum distributors, depot operators, and Dangote Refinery have escalated their local fuel pump prices to reflect the fluctuations in global crude oil prices.
