Trabzonspor defender Chibuike Nwaiwu has taken the place of Calvin Bassey in the Super Eagles’ roster for international matches against Iran and Jordan, as reported by NAIJATAB.

Bassey withdrew from the forthcoming fixtures due to a back injury.

The centre-back incurred the injury during Fulham’s 3-1 win over Burnley at Craven Cottage last weekend.

This marks the first occasion Nwaiwu has received a call-up to the Super Eagles.

The 22-year-old transitioned to Trabzonspor from the Austrian side, Wolfsberger AC in January.

The Enyimba talent has netted two goals and provided one assist in 10 league matches for the Black Sea Storm.
