In various chapters of our lives, we may feel elated and joyful, as everything appears to be thriving.
However, during different moments, we can feel downcast and disheartened.
Existence is filled with highs and lows, but when you’re in a low moment, there are several Psalms you can refer to that will elevate your spirit.
Psalm 16:8 - “I am constantly aware of the Lord’s presence; he is close, and nothing can disturb me.”
Psalm 23:1–6 - “Lord, You are my shepherd; I lack nothing. You allow me to rest in green meadows, You guide me beside calm waters, You rejuvenate my soul. You lead me along paths of righteousness for Your name’s honor. Even though I traverse the valley of the shadow of death, I will not fear any evil, for You are with me! Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me! You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my foes, You anoint my head with oil, my cup overflows. Surely, kindness and compassion will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will reside in Your house forever. Amen.”
Psalm 25: 1–3 - “In You, Lord my God, I place my faith. I trust in You; do not let me be embarrassed, nor allow my foes to gain the upper hand. No one who places their hope in You will ever be embarrassed, but disgrace will fall on those who act deceitfully without reason.”
Psalm 27:1–3 - “Lord, You are my light and my salvation; whom should I fear? You are the strength of my life; of whom should I be frightened? When the wicked advance against me to devour my flesh, my enemies and adversaries, they stumbled and collapsed. Even if an army surrounds me, my heart will not be afraid!”
Psalm 27:8 - “The Lord shields and supports me; I place my trust in Him. He provides me with assistance and fills me with joy; I exalt Him with cheerful melodies.”
Psalm 91:2 - “You are my sanctuary and my stronghold, my God, in whom I confide.”
Psalm 121:1–2 - “I lift my eyes to the hills; where will my aid come from? My aid will come from the Lord, who created heaven and earth.”
