
Agents of the Delta State Police Command’s Buffalo Team in partnership with members of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria, VGN, Achalla Branch, have apprehended four individuals and seized substances believed to be illegal drugs in considerable amounts.
The individuals were taken into custody by the agents during a “strategic operation” at Hausa Market near the Customs Checkpoint along the Benin–Asaba Expressway on April 5, 2026.
Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, revealed this in a statement on Monday.
The statement mentioned, “On 05 April 2026 at approximately 1709hrs, agents of the Buffalo Team, Delta State Command, in collaboration with members of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN), Achalla Branch, responding to credible intelligence, executed a strategic operation at Hausa Market near the Customs Checkpoint along the Benin–Asaba Expressway.”
“This operation resulted in the apprehension of four (4) individuals including: Yakubu Umar ‘M’, 19 years; Galiu Adamu ‘M’, 17 years; Nuhu Musa ‘M’, 16 years; and Zaraduwu Usman ‘M’, 21 years.
“Items recovered encompass significant quantities of suspected illegal drugs, specifically Colorado, Canadian Loud, weeds believed to be Indian hemp, Tramadol, and Swinol.
“Additional recoveries included two (2) homemade battle axes and the total sum of One Hundred and Forty-Four Thousand Naira (₦144,000).
“All individuals and evidence are in custody, while investigations continue.”
