Bible verses on Godly leadership

Bible passages on Righteous leadership

Leadership is a significant aspect regardless of the field you find yourself in.

There exists a well-known adage that claims that everything succeeds or fails based on leadership.

There are two categories of leaders: the Secular and the Spiritual.

As suggested by the term, Secular leaders derive their abilities from the world and other individuals, whereas the latter rely on God, His son, and the Scriptures.

Here are several Bible passages that provide profound insight for leaders:

  1. John 3:30; “He must increase; I must decrease.”
  2. Matthew 20:26; “But it will be different among you. Whoever desires to be a leader among you must be your servant.”
  3. Exodus 18:21; “But choose capable individuals from all the people—those who revere God, trustworthy individuals who detest dishonest gain—and appoint them as officials over thousands, hundreds, fifties, and tens.”

4.Luke 6:31; “Treat others as you wish to be treated.”

  1. Proverbs 16:12; “It is a disgrace for rulers to engage in evil deeds, for a throne is built on righteousness.”
  2. 1 Peter 5:2; “Tend the flock of God that is among you, providing oversight, not under pressure, but willingly, as God desires; not for dishonest gain, but eagerly.”
  3. 1 Peter 5:3; “Not domineering over those assigned to your care, but being examples to the flock.”
  4. 1 Timothy 3:5; “For if someone does not know how to manage his own household, how can he take care of the church of God?”
  5. 1 Timothy 3: 1- 3; “This is a reliable statement: Whoever aims to be an overseer desires a commendable role. The overseer must be beyond reproach, faithful to his wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, not given to excessive drinking, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, nor a lover of money.”
  6. Mark 10:42-45; “And Jesus summoned them and said to them, “You are aware that those who are regarded as rulers of the Gentiles dominate over them, and their prominent figures exercise authority over them. But it shall not be like that among you. But whoever wants to be great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first among you must be the servant of all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve, and to offer His life as a ransom for many.”
