“Barcelona’s Summer Shake-Up: Five Star Players on the Chopping Block, Including De Jong!”

Barcelona are reportedly orchestrating a summer clearance, with midfielder Frenkie de Jong among five prominent players they are prepared to let go.

Although the Netherlands international has long been a cornerstone in the Blaugrana’s midfield, his recent seasons have been consistently hindered by injuries.

As stated by MARCA, De Jong tops the list of potential exits this summer.

Joining the 28-year-old are Robert Lewandowski, Marcus Rashford, Andreas Christensen, and Marc Casado.

De Jong is bound by a contract until June 2029, but his ongoing fitness troubles have raised significant doubts.

This season alone, he has missed 11 matches due to various ailments, including a hamstring issue that kept him out for 45 days.

With Marc Bernal back in the squad and De Jong among the club’s highest earners, his future appears increasingly precarious.

In other news, Lewandowski, whose contract extends until June 2026, is reportedly close to departing.

Rashford’s loan period is also set to conclude this summer, and after a subdued performance, particularly in the Champions League quarterfinals, a return to Manchester United seems probable.

La Masia graduate Casado has fallen out of regular favor under manager Hansi Flick, while Christensen has been out since December with an ACL injury.
