Tragedy Strikes: Nigerian Passenger Passes Away on Istanbul to Lagos Flight



A Nigerian traveler, Alhaji Isiaq Dahunsi, has passed away aboard an international journey from Istanbul to Lagos in the early hours of Monday, April 27, 2026.

The occurrence was revealed by a close acquaintance of the departed, Ishola Isiaq, an Imam with the Ansarudeen Society of Nigeria, in a post shared on his verified Facebook page.

As stated by the cleric, Dahunsi passed away during the flight while heading back to Nigeria from Türkiye. The airplane was making its way to the Murtala Muhammed International Airport at the time of the incident.

“I have lost a childhood companion, the late Alhaji Isiaq Dahunsi, this morning, Monday 27th April 2026, while he was returning from Istanbul, Turkey, to Murtala Muhammed International Airport. He passed away on the flight,” Isiaq noted.

He concluded with a prayer for the departed, expressing, “May the Almighty Allah accept his return and pardon his shortcomings.”

Information regarding the details of Dahunsi’s passing remains uncertain, as the cleric did not reveal the cause of death or the airline in question.
