Alleged militants have assassinated the president of the Butchers Association of Nigeria, Ruwan Godiya branch, during an assault in Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State.
Security insiders informed Zagazola Makama that forces from Sector 2 under Operation FANSAN YAMMA reacted to the occurrence around 1:25 pm on April 21, after receiving alerts about militant activity on the fringes of Ruwan Godiya village.
Upon arrival, troops discovered that Sa’adu Amadu, recognized as the local leader of the butchers’ association, had been gunned down at his home.
As per the sources, the assault was purportedly executed by a suspected terrorist chief known as Dogo Musa, who fled the scene immediately following the shooting.
“The troops promptly proceeded to the site and validated that the victim had been murdered in his compound,” a source revealed. “The attackers escaped prior to the arrival of security personnel.”
Troops reportedly chased the assailants along their exit path, yet no contact was established.
Security officials have since escalated search missions and patrols throughout the region in an effort to apprehend the offenders and avert additional assaults.
