“Tinubu Elevates Modupe Adelabu to Lead NECO Board”

President Bola Tinubu has designated Professor Modupe Adelabu as the new Chairperson of the Board of Governors of the National Examinations Council (NECO).

The declaration was made on Wednesday via the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
He stated that the appointment is part of wider initiatives to reform and enhance leadership within significant educational institutions.

Adelabu is an expert in educational management and a retired scholar from Obafemi Awolowo University. She has occupied various senior roles in both academia and public service.

She held the position of Deputy Governor of Ekiti State from 2013 to 2014. Additionally, she presided over the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) from 2018 to 2021, where she played a role in policy creation and the supervision of technical education.

Her new position at NECO is anticipated to bolster the council’s leadership and aid ongoing initiatives to enhance the integrity and standards of national examinations in Nigeria.
