“Uniting for Justice: Zakzaky’s Call to Muslims and Christians”

The Islamic Movement in Nigeria, commonly referred to as Shi’ites, has urged Muslims and Christians worldwide to come together in addressing injustice and oppression, asserting that global solidarity is essential for advancing justice and enhancing living conditions.

This request was voiced on Sunday by Malama Zeenatuddeen Ibraheem Zakzaky, spouse of the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky, during the concluding ceremony of the 5th International Conference on Islamic Thought themed, “The State of Affairs and the Way Forward.”

NAIJATAB reports that the gathering was organized by the Sisters Forum and Academic Forum under the guidance of Sheikh Zakzaky and took place in Bauchi.

The three-day event attracted attendees from Nigeria, Niger, Chad, and various other African nations.

Zeenatuddeen Zakzaky called upon Muslims to adhere closely to the teachings of the Qur’an and the practices of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

“Muslims should conduct their lives in accordance with what Allah has prescribed in the Qur’an and the manner in which the Prophet conveyed it to us,” she stated.

She clarified that the conference aimed to remind the faithful of their obligations as Muslims.

“We are not insisting that everyone must convert to Islam, but we also cannot afford to deviate from the teachings of the Qur’an,” she added.

Discussing current global conflicts, including those involving the United States, Israel, and Iran, she characterized the scenario as a battle between oppression and resistance.

“I prefer that people do not inquire about this conflict, yet it is evident. I stand with the axis of resistance against oppression. We are aware of who the aggressors are,” she remarked.

She emphasized that peace and progress cannot thrive in a planet that disregards injustice.

“It is imperative to act against injustice. All the Prophets of God arrived to combat oppression and establish fairness,” she stated.

According to her, the conference also sought to elevate awareness of the Islamic Movement’s aims in Nigeria and bolster resistance against what she termed global oppression, especially towards Palestinians.

She mentioned that the United States and Israel were pursuing expansionist and self-serving agendas, encouraging Nigerians to be wary of foreign interference and safeguard national autonomy.

“The US is primarily focused on the wealth and resources of other nations. Nigerians need to tread cautiously and protect their sovereignty,” she cautioned.

Also addressing the assembly, a scholar from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Dr. Fatima noted that the conference was intended to advocate for justice and inspire resistance to oppression on a global scale.

She called for harmony among Muslims and Christians, asserting that inaction in the face of injustice exacerbates worldwide suffering.
