“Breaking the Cycle: GehGeh’s Heartfelt Response to Sister’s Plea for Financial Support”
Renowned content producer and influencer, Emmanuel Obruste, widely recognized as GehGeh, has ultimately addressed his sister regarding accusations of neglect.
According to NAIJATAB, GehGeh’s younger sibling had publicly accused him of disregarding her and other siblings despite his affluence, claiming she was refused entry at GehGeh’s housewarming event.
In response to the claims, a number of Nigerians criticized GehGeh on social platforms.
Amidst the criticism, GehGeh in a video on his Instagram account remarked, “I never acquired the kind of wealth capable of lifting a family from poverty. I can only do my utmost, not everything.”
Detailing how he has assisted his family previously, the content creator, who asserted that he purchased the phone her sister is currently using, urged his siblings to seek employment and cease relying on him.
GehGeh, who revealed he is the first individual in his family to achieve significant success, stated, “I will not aid anyone in this life to the extent that I later require help from them. I refuse to do that. I will contribute my best, not my everything. See, I am indeed callous. Yes, I am callous. It is this harshness that has propelled me to this point.
“I am quite frugal with my finances. I would not have achieved my current status if I had continuously given money to every individual that sought assistance. Asake has gained fame for over four years as an international superstar, yet it was only this year he purchased cars for his parents. I started earning from social media two years ago and you expect me to just lift my entire historically impoverished family. Bro, in the saga of my family, I’m the only one that has witnessed success. And you expect that as I see success, I should just elevate everyone out of poverty?
“Now I have one sister who refuses to work. My guidance to my siblings is to seek employment, don’t rely on me. I have a family with three children to support. I am prioritizing strategy over feelings because I do not possess the wealth to uplift a family from poverty. In my family’s narrative, I’m the first person to construct a duplex and own cars. In such a family, do you really expect me to uplift everyone?”, he questioned.
