
Legislator representing the Ikeja Federal Constituency, Lagos State in the 10th House of Representatives, James Faleke has designated Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat as the forthcoming governor of Lagos State.
Hamzat, who presently serves as the deputy governor of the state, is vying for the All Progressives Congress, APC nomination to run in the election.
In a message posted on his X account on Friday, the legislator called upon stakeholders and supporters of the ruling party in his constituency to back Hamzat in the primary elections.
He stated, “Good evening everyone. As we gear up for the Party primaries next month, I encourage all our supporters in Ikeja Federal Constituency and Lagos State to endorse Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat as the next Governor of Lagos State from 2027-2035 IJN.”
Meanwhile, a former Lagos State gubernatorial contender, Funso Doherty, on Friday, announced his intention to enter the race for the 2027 Lagos gubernatorial election.
Doherty plans to run in 2027 under the African Democratic Congress, ADC.
The announcement was made during an ADC gathering and conveyed by ADC Vanguard, the coalition mobilization arm of the party, on X.
