As the 2027 election nears, the sitting legislator representing Ndokwa/Ukwuani Federal Constituency, Nnamdi Ezechi, and his predecessor, Ossai Ossai, have established a confrontational stance.
While Ezechi has accused Ossai of intending to orchestrate protests against him, Ossai has countered with claims of unsubstantiated allegations.
Ezechi, in a declaration provided to the press, contended that the proposed protest was designed to foster discontent and tarnish his image leading up to the 2027 general elections.
He characterized the alleged initiative as unwarranted, affirming that he enjoys a harmonious relationship with his constituents and remains dedicated to proficient representation.
“Such moves, if allowed to proceed, could escalate political strife, endanger tranquility and security in Ndokwa territory, and disrupt the political landscape.
“Law enforcement agencies should stay alert and take preemptive measures to prevent what he referred to as an “malevolent plot,”
He urged his constituents to remain composed and adhere to the law.
Nevertheless, Ossai dismissed the allegations as “groundless, deceptive, and unverified,” encouraging the public to ignore such claims.
Ossai’s media team accused Ezechi of fabricating accusations rather than concentrating on governance and service provision, noting that no credible proof had been established to substantiate the protest allegation.
The team asserted that the accusations do not depict reality and were a distortion capable of misleading constituents, aside from recent appeals by various stakeholders, including youth, women, and community leaders, urging the former representative to run in 2027.
“The appeals are spontaneous manifestations of goodwill founded on my prior performance, and not part of any coordinated political scheme. He has never been linked with sponsoring protests or engaging in actions that could disturb public order.”
