Deji Aboderin, a previous Special Adviser on Public Affairs to the immediate past governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi, has announced his desire to run for the House of Representatives election in the Ibadan North East/Ibadan South East federal constituency in 2027.
Aboderin stated that he will run under the banner of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
He disclosed his decision on Wednesday while speaking at a press conference in his Ward 9 within the Ibadan South East local government area.
NAIJATAB reports that Aboderin was the House of Representatives candidate for the APC in 2019 but did not win the election.
While speaking with reporters, Aboderin emphasized that his desire to serve the community prompted him to announce his ambition ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He mentioned that he has traversed the federal constituency and determined that the region is in urgent need of a capable representative.
He remarked that he was sidelined during his last contest under the APC in 2019 but has taken away valuable lessons from the experience.
Aboderin asserted that he is poised to contest under the APC and secure victory in this upcoming election.
He said, “I am meeting with some party leaders today, which is why I am present in my Ward. I needed to commence from my Ward 9 in Ibadan South East local government area.
“I ran under the APC in 2019. I won the election, but as you know, in Nigeria, they performed some tricks. I have absorbed the lessons. I have understood my errors.
“I have undertaken initiatives for the community. There’s a significant need for various resources in this area. That is the reason I am running in 2027. I have traveled through the region, and people are expressing that we lack a capable representative. We require a social policy that caters to all segments of society.”
