Tragedy Strikes: Business Deal Turns Deadly in Ogun as Two Lives Are Lost and Three Injured



A 25-year-old individual recognized as Abubakar Musa has been apprehended by agents of Ajuwon division of the Ogun State Police Command for purportedly taking the lives of two individuals and injuring three others in Ifo Local Government Area.

The alleged perpetrator reportedly assaulted the victims with a blade at approximately 1:38 am on Tuesday, following an unsuccessful business deal in Olambe community.

The victims, Gbadamasi Ibrahim, aged 25, and one 40-year-old Mr. Chinedu, were pronounced dead upon arrival at the medical facility, while 35-year-old Mohammed Abubakar, in addition to Ashiru Adamu and Paul Lawrence, both 25 years old, are in critical state but are responding to medical care.

Upon inquiry, the Police Public Relations Officer, Oluseyi Babaseyi, informed NAIJATAB that the victims were wounded while attempting to pacify the agitated suspect.

Babaseyi noted that the suspect fled the scene after the incident but was subsequently apprehended by detectives.

“On Tuesday, April 7th, 2026, at about 0138hrs, the suspect stabbed five individuals. Two of them, Gbadamasi Ibrahim ‘M’, aged 25, and Chinedu ‘M’, aged 40, perished while being transported to the hospital. A physician verified their deaths.

“The remaining three victims, Mohammed Abubakar ‘M’, aged 35, Ashiru Adamu ‘M’, aged 25, and Paul Lawrence ‘M’, aged 25, are in grave condition but are responding to medical treatment.

“He is currently in police custody. The matter and the suspect have been forwarded to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for examination and prosecution,” added Babaseyi.

Meanwhile, the State Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, denounced the assault and assured that justice will be delivered.

Ojajuni also encouraged the citizens of the state to remain vigilant and report any dubious or aggressive conduct to the police.
