A heavy rainfall on Tuesday caused traffic to descend into disarray along the Nyanya–Keffi Expressway in Abuja after extensive damage was reported at the Kugbo Bus Terminal.
Sections of the newly established terminal were impacted by the tempest, with portions of the roofing ripped away and rubble spilling onto the roadway, obstructing the smooth movement of vehicles.
This situation led to severe congestion on the consistently busy route linking the Federal Capital Territory with adjacent Nasarawa State, leaving commuters immobilized for multiple hours.
Individuals witnessing the event noted that several vehicles were struck by falling debris, as bystanders and local residents collaborated to clear the path and alleviate the traffic snarl.
The vicinity surrounding the Abuja Computerised Vehicle Inspection Centre, overseen by the Directorate of Road Traffic Services (VIO), was recognized as the most severely impacted area of the highway.
As of the time of composing this report on Tuesday evening, traffic was still moving slowly, with drivers advised to navigate cautiously when nearing the impacted zone.
