“Power Shift: APC Solidifies Control in Gombe Assembly with Final PDP Defection”

A legislator representing Billiri East Constituency in the Gombe State House of Assembly, Yakubu Daniel (Shetiman Bare), has officially transitioned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

This transition further reinforced the supremacy of the ruling APC in the state legislature, as Daniel was the last remaining PDP legislator in the Gombe State House of Assembly.

Daniel publicly declared his transition on Saturday at the Government House in Gombe, where he was greeted by Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya.

He was joined by the Speaker of the State Assembly and other legislators during the occasion.

Elucidating on the rationale behind his choice, Daniel stated that his action followed a series of prior transitions by opposition legislators, including members of the minority leadership who had previously joined the APC.

He also credited his decision to what he characterized as the community-focused leadership style of Governor Yahaya, which he claimed has continued to draw support across political boundaries.

Governor Yahaya embraced the news, labeling the transition as a clear indication of the increasing trust in the APC-led administration in Gombe State.

“This is a strong endorsement of our leadership, our policies, and our inclusive approach to governance. For the last remaining opposition member in the Assembly to take this action speaks volumes about the trajectory we are pursuing in Gombe State,” the governor remarked.

He acknowledged that the rising support for the party was a reflection of public confidence in the administration’s policies and the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu at the national level.

“The significant support we are witnessing is not coincidental. It is a result of the faith the citizens have in what we are achieving here in Gombe, as well as the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu at the national level,” Yahaya emphasized.

The governor also reiterated that the APC continues to be a broad and inclusive platform dedicated to unity, development, justice, and good governance.

Daniel, for his part, pledged allegiance to the APC and committed to enhancing the party’s presence while also fostering its growth and consolidation throughout the state.
