The Southeast African Democratic Congress, ADC, has inaugurated a team, referred to as the South East Mobilization Network, SEMN, tasked with the duty of enhancing grassroots mobilization for the party’s electoral triumph in 2027.
The inauguration of the group occurred in Enugu with the introduction of its National Executive Council members.
The Director General of the group, Bryan Diamond Agu, speaking to the audience after the launch ceremony, stated that the organization was established to forge strategic avenues toward fortifying ADC across the Southeast geopolitical zone in anticipation of the 2027 general elections.
He praised ADC members and stakeholders for what was described as their shared dedication to ensuring the successful establishment of the group, particularly the Imo State Chairman of the Party, James Okoroma, for his enlightening discourse on political mobilization and party growth.
Agu added that the NEC, as the ultimate decision-making entity of SEMN, will ensure that the same degree of commitment showcased during the launch event must be mirrored in the Council’s mission of mobilizing the Southeast Electorate for the party.
”The mission of mobilizing the Southeast Electorate has already commenced and demands disciplined execution of agreed-upon programs and strategies.
We must align fully with the directives of the national leadership of the Party to guarantee synergy and quantifiable electoral results,” he stated.
The DG also pointed out that the ongoing ADC National E-Membership Registration initiative is intended to bolster the party structure, enhance membership management, and improve strategic planning from polling units to State levels.
He urged SEMN members and coordinators to actively engage citizens in the registration process, particularly in anticipation of the upcoming ADC congresses scheduled for April 7, 2026.
Agu further expressed that the organization will ensure that it encourages the electorate to partake in Permanent Voter’s Card ownership as part of the prerequisites for participating in any democratic process.
”Members were thus urged to amplify grassroots awareness and assist eligible citizens in acquiring their PVCs, understanding that political involvement without voting capability diminishes democratic participation.
“Moreover, reaffirming the principle that politics is inherently local, SEMN has instructed its State Coordinators to submit timelines and initiatives for the State-by-State inauguration of its Executive structures, to solidify SEMN’s presence at LGA, Ward, and polling unit levels where electoral results are ultimately decided,” Agu asserted.
Acknowledging the contributions of party leaders who attended the event, particularly the Chairman of the planning Committee, Nnamdi Anedo, and the Apex Leader of SEMN, Lady Monica Ebere Ozoude, the Director General expressed that their altruistic efforts made the unveiling a success.
He further stated that SEMN has confidence in the ADC national leadership in building what is termed a credible alternative capable of securing power in 2027.
Agu thus urged the members to enhance engagement with voters from the region and promote the party’s vision of responsible governance and national renewal.
“Now is the time for action. We must roll up our sleeves and get to work. The ADC symbolizes hope for Nigerians, and SEMN must take the lead in this historic movement towards national transformation,” he further remarked.
