The majority of Ogun State Assembly representatives have expressed their endorsement for Nigerian Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, who serves the state’s Western Senatorial District, in the 2027 gubernatorial race under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The legislators, comprising 20 out of 26 members of the State House of Assembly, reached this conclusion on Wednesday.
While addressing the press on behalf of the legislators at the Iwe-Iroyin Secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, the Majority Leader of the Assembly, Yusuf Sheriff Abiodun, pointed to Adeola’s expertise and contributions to both the state and the nation as justifications for their backing.
“I am also taking this chance to reaffirm our unwavering support for the gubernatorial campaign of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola,” he remarked.
Previously, the state legislators had supported President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for re-election in 2027.
They have joined numerous governors and influential politicians who have endorsed Tinubu’s re-election agenda.
