A leader of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the Ibadan North East local government area of Oyo State, Chief Kunle Ayorinde has abandoned the party and joined the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Ayorinde, originally from the Ita Baale region, made this announcement while conversing with NAIJATAB on Wednesday evening.
The retired government official mentioned that he was among those who contributed to the success of Governor Seyi Makinde in 2019.
However, he claimed that he was not rewarded for his efforts.
Ayorinde stated that he tried to meet with the governor but that the influential figures in Makinde’s administration hindered him.

He remarked, “We labored for the triumph of the party in 2023 with the expectation that Governor Seyi Makinde would reward us.
“Regrettably, rather than recognizing our efforts, those in power obstructed all avenues to communicate with him (the governor) and share our perspectives.
“Politics is a profession deserving compensation. Governor Seyi Makinde is a commendable leader, yet some individuals are operating behind him to tarnish his reputation.”
