Linda Ikeji biography All you need to be aware of, family, wealth

Ms. Linda Ikeji is undoubtedly one of the most prominent bloggers in Nigeria.

She is not solely a blogger, but also a significant online entrepreneur on the African continent.

Born Linda Ifeoma Ikeji on September 19, 1980, she is the second of seven offspring from her parents.

They originate from Nkwerre in Imo state.

At the age of 10, she had already commenced writing short fictional tales. Coupled with her talent for storytelling, she was keen to report on the news and was captivated by interviews.

This inspired her to seek a degree in Mass Communication at the University of Lagos. However, unfortunately for her, she was enrolled in English Language instead.

She started university at 19, and due to her family’s hardships, had to sustain herself financially.

She took on various roles as a waitress, event usher, bartender, and as a model.

Nonetheless, modeling was not very lucrative at that time in Nigeria; Linda perceived it as a kind of work she could do to support herself while studying rather than engaging in jobs that would “diminish her dignity.”

Upon finishing her university studies, Linda launched her own modeling agency named Black Dove Communications, a title inspired by Silverbird.

The venture was not as lucrative as she had anticipated, so when she shifted to blogging, she devoted all her energy to it and maximized her efforts.

Currently, Linda is a self-made multi-millionaire, who amassed her wealth without any form of corruption, dishonesty or trickery, as many ladies do nowadays.

She commenced blogging in November 2006, a period when internet access was minimally widespread in Nigeria and also when only a handful of individuals blogged about their personal experiences and families.

One could recount her humble beginnings, as she frequently shares her story of how she used to borrow money to access cybercafés to blog.

This marked the dawn of Linda Ikeji Blog.

Since its initiation, first in 2006 and fully in 2007, Linda Ikeji blog has evolved into a well-recognized blog throughout Africa.

Initially starting as a gossip blog, which was the first of its kind in Nigeria, “LIB” as it is colloquially referred to, has transformed into a hub of entertainment, covering news and events occurring in and around Africa and beyond. It also encompasses lifestyle and fashion narratives.

Linda possesses one of the most engaged blogs in the nation, with her social media following rising by thousands each day.

In light of her blog’s success, Linda Ikeji introduced a social platform called Linda Ikeji Social. She mentioned that the concept came to her when she encountered fans who stated they only visited two websites; LIB and Facebook. This spurred her to create something that combined the offerings of both sites. The networking platform operates under the domain name LindaIkejiSocial.com.

On the inaugural day of its launch, more than 50,000 individuals registered. Her strategy for the site was highly appealing as she pledged to compensate users a percentage based on their follower count and the advertisements featured on their page. She also stated she would acquire users’ content/stories based on its originality.

With such an amount of money, one cannot expect her not to live extravagantly. She has expended over N50 million on vehicles for herself and other family members. This adds to her garage which already included a 2008 Toyota Camry and an Infinity FX 35 SUV.
She has also acquired two new residences, a 5-bedroom duplex for her parents in Surulere, and a seven-bedroom mansion on the Island for herself valued at upwards of N300 million.

Linda Ikeji has often had confrontations with individuals who believe she goes too far in infringing upon their personal lives. These individuals include prominent Nigerian celebrities like Wizkid, Olamide, Yvonne Nelson, and others.

One notable incident occurred when she was accused of duplicating content, which resulted in Google removing her blog in 2014.

After resolving the issue, Linda returned stronger and even expanded her enterprise. She hired journalists whose roles would be to provide her with more exclusive content for her Blog.

Linda Ikeji participates in numerous philanthropic endeavors. She notably finds joy in supporting young women between the ages of 18 and 26 who possess innovative business ideas and wish to delve into entrepreneurship.

Through her initiative themed; “I’d rather be self-made, No, thanks,” Linda allocated a total of N10,000,000 to various girls to commence their projects.

She has also mentored her siblings in entrepreneurship. In fact, one of her siblings, Laura, now operates a fashion blog called heylauraikeji.blogspot.com.

The multi-millionaire blogger is not married and to our knowledge, is not currently in a relationship. However, she has a son.

She was previously rumored to be involved with CoolFM presenter, Dan Foster, and then renowned film director and producer, Aquilla Njamah.
