Rizzo began his baseball journey at ‘Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School’ in Parkland, Florida, where he was selected by the ‘Boston Red Sox’ during the ‘2007 Major League Baseball Draft’ in the sixth round.

He had plans to enroll at ‘Florida Atlantic University’ before being approached by the ‘Red Sox’ to sign a contract worth $325,000. In 2009, he hit 12 home runs for the ‘Red Sox.’
