The African Democratic Congress, ADC, has refuted claims suggesting that its Interim National Chairman, David Mark, has stepped down from his role.
The organization labeled the allegations as untrue and deceptive.
In a declaration released by the National Chairman’s Media Office, the claims were dismissed as “a malicious concoction” orchestrated by “immature, feeble, and thoughtless propagandists”.
The announcement affirmed that Mark continues to serve as the legitimate National Chairman of the organization, emphasizing that there are no plans or discussions surrounding his resignation.
“The claim that Senator David Mark has resigned exists solely in the distorted minds of those intent on disseminating falsehoods and generating turmoil within our organization,” the announcement stated.
It additionally pointed out that the party’s leadership remains cohesive and dedicated to enhancing democratic values and providing trustworthy leadership to Nigerians.
The announcement cautioned against efforts to destabilize the ADC, linking such actions to concerns over the party’s increasing influence and shifting political landscape leading up to the 2027 general elections.
“The ADC, its leadership, and the majority of Nigerians are steadfast in their joint resolve to thwart any schemes aimed at undermining Nigeria’s multi-party democracy or establishing a one-party system,” the announcement continued.
The organization urged Nigerians to dismiss the rumors and remain confident in the stability of the ADC’s leadership.
