Mr. Folashodun Adebisi initiated his career as a Consultant Engineer at Mek-ind Associates, where he was employed from 1984 to 1989. After that, he transitioned to Inlaks Computers Limited, taking on the role of Marketing Executive from 1989 to 1990.
He became part of Citibank Nigeria Limited in 1990, serving as Head of Treasury Operations until 1993. Mr. Adebisi subsequently joined Agusto & Co. Ltd as a Supervising Consultant, where he remained from 1993 to 1996. In 1999, he progressed to MBC International Limited as Deputy General Manager, overseeing Banking Operations and Information Technology.
Advancing his career path, he entered First City Monument Bank (FCMB) Limited as Vice-President, where he was responsible for Operations & Information Technology, serving in this role until 2002. In 2003, he moved to Ecobank Nigeria Plc as an Executive Director, overseeing Operations & Information Technology. Later, in 2007, he took on the position of Director, Information Technology and Corporate Services at Renaissance Securities Nigeria Limited.
Significantly, from September 2009 to April 2012, Mr. Adebisi served at Union Bank of Nigeria Limited as an Executive Director, overseeing Operations, Technology, and Services. He held the position of Managing Director/CEO of Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement System Plc from May 2012 to October 2018.
Following that appointment, in October 2018, he was designated as the Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) Deputy Governor, Operations. He has also represented the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria on the Board of FIRS (Federal Inland Revenue Service) since December 9, 2019.
On June 9, 2023, Mr. Folashodun Adebisi was named as the Acting Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
