
Nollywood performer, Tonto Dikeh, has been legally challenged for administering deliverance on a student within school grounds.
The renowned actress was hit with a N200 million lawsuit at the High Court in Abuja by human rights attorney, Ikechukwu Obasi.
Obasi, who lodged the lawsuit on behalf of the Rivers State-origin Junior Secondary School, JSS 1 pupil, highlighted that the adolescent girl was exposed to what he labeled as a detrimental religious practice, with the footage later disseminated online.
He additionally pointed out that the sharing of the video without the girl’s approval infringed upon her privacy rights “under Section 37 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Child Rights Act 2003.”
While seeking N200 million for damages, a public apology, and the deletion of the video from all social media channels, Obasi also requested the court to proclaim the action as a breach of the girl’s constitutional right to dignity and personal privacy. Insisting that
