The Kebbi State Government has cautioned prospective pilgrims for the 2026 Hajj against improper behavior, asserting that penalties will be imposed on offenders during the event and after their return to Nigeria.
This caution was conveyed by the Chairman of the Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Faruk Aliyu Yaro Enabo, during the launch of committees established to supervise various facets of the pilgrimage.
Enabo indicated that the committees were formed to guarantee efficient coordination of Hajj activities and uphold discipline among pilgrims both within Nigeria and in Saudi Arabia.
He clarified that the disciplinary committee, led by the state Grand Qadi, Khalifah Mukhtar Usman, is tasked with enforcing appropriate behavior and addressing cases of misconduct.
The security sub-committee, supervised by the Commissioner of Police, Umar Muhammad Hadeija, will manage security arrangements prior to departure, during transit, and throughout the pilgrims’ sojourn.
Enabo implored stakeholders to maintain transparency and professionalism in the execution of their responsibilities to facilitate a seamless exercise.
Additionally, the Amirul Hajj and Head of Government Delegation, Ahmad Ja’afar Jega, urged committee members to perform their duties according to established protocols.
He stressed the importance of collaboration with the Pilgrims Welfare Agency to guarantee an uninterrupted pilgrimage.
In the meantime, the state government has initiated vaccination for prospective pilgrims, highlighting that immunization is a compulsory requirement for entry into Saudi Arabia.
