“Paul Scholes Unveils Key Missteps by Arteta in Arsenal’s Clash with Man City”

Manchester United icon, Paul Scholes, has identified the errors Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta made against Manchester City during their Premier League clash on Sunday.

Arteta observed as City triumphed over the Gunners 2-1 at the Etihad Stadium, courtesy of strikes from Ryan Cherki and Erling Haaland.

Speaking on The Good, The Bad & The Football podcast, Scholes mentioned that Arteta altered his strategy against Pep Guardiola’s team and should have maintained Eberechi Eze for the entire match.

“I believe Arteta modified his approach a bit yesterday, and it’s not always straightforward to do that when you’re accustomed to playing in a certain style. Suddenly, he fielded a considerably attacking lineup,” Scholes stated.

“It was thrilling, but you can’t just turn it on and off like that. To demonstrate some determination, they should have substituted Declan Rice or Martin Zubimendi and pushed for the goal.

“When observing the match, you think, ‘Eze’s performing well here, Eze is significantly impacting the game, and I would assume the other players might be thinking, ‘That is an odd decision’ (to take him off).”
