Former Premier League goalkeeper, Shay Given has expressed his esteem for the qualities of Nigerian winger, Samuel Chukwueze following Fulham’s scoreless tie against Brentford on Saturday.
Chukwueze, presently on loan at Fulham from AC Milan, was introduced onto the pitch prior to halftime after his compatriot, Alex Iwobi had to exit due to a suspected hamstring strain.
In a conversation on Premier League Productions, Given highlighted Chukwueze’s attacking prowess and conveyed optimism regarding his influence on the game.
“Chukwueze has come into the match. I appreciate him as well; he is truly an offensive player. You can anticipate witnessing similar link-up interactions in the second half,” Given stated.
“At the very least, a touch of thrill is required because the first half has been rather dull. Keane Lewis-Potter had a crucial chance just before the break to provide Brentford with the lead but failed to take advantage of it,” he continued.
Despite Chukwueze’s arrival, Fulham was unable to net a goal, resulting in a stalemate as they sought to recover from their recent defeat to Liverpool.
Since his arrival at Craven Cottage, the Nigerian international has made a significant impression, netting three goals and delivering four assists in 19 league appearances.
Chukwueze’s performances have reportedly prompted the Premier League club to consider a permanent transfer at the conclusion of the season.
