“2027 Forecast: Wike Predicts Amaechi and David Mark’s Struggles in Riveting Rivers and Benue”

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, has asserted that former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, lacks the ability to secure Rivers State for the African Democratic Congress, ADC, in the upcoming 2027 general elections.

Wike made this statement on Friday while engaging with journalists in Abuja, the capital of the nation.

He cited previous elections where Amaechi, despite his prominence and roles within the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, was unable to achieve electoral success in Rivers State.

The minister also reminisced about the 2015 and 2019 elections, noting that even with federal support as Director-General of the presidential campaign of the late ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, the APC did not excel in the state.

In his view, despite what he referred to as “federal might” utilized during earlier elections, he still emerged victorious in the gubernatorial elections in the state, asserting that the state remains politically impervious to such assumptions.

“Are we suggesting today, if an election were held in Rivers State today, that Rotimi Amaechi would secure Rivers State for ADC?

“Keep in mind, he was a governor. When I sought to run as governor, he was with the APC. Who was it that defeated him? And he was the DG of the campaign back then.

“Recall, in 2019, as I campaigned for my second term, he served as the Minister of Transportation and was the DG of Buhari’s campaign,” he stated.

Wike further probed the ADC’s national prospects, adding that former Senate President David Mark, who is the national chairman of the party, is unable to secure Benue, his home state.

“Consider, for instance, Benue, where the former Senate president, the so-called chairman of the party, had his daughter win under APC, while he was in PDP,” he remarked.
